This dataset contains 50 specimen records of 1 suborder, 4 family, 2 subfamily, 6 genus and 4 species of insects and freshwater animals in Ogasawara Islands, Japan between 2003 and 2017 published by National Institute for Environmental Studies, Japan (NIES). The Ogasawara DNA barcode database can be found at https://www.nies.go.jp/ogasawara/.

取樣方法
Freshwater invertebrates were sampled from rivers and dams in Ogasawara Islands from 2003 to 2017. Samples were collected on D-frame nets with a mesh size of 0.475 mm. We also picked up samples from the underneath the stones on the bottom of rivers. Samples were preserved in 99.5% ethanol until DNA extraction.

方法步驟描述:
- Specimens were removed from ethanol and identified by morphology.
- After morphological identification, samples were subjected to DNA extraction. Based on the partial sequence of COI, we checked for discrepancies in morphological identification and DNA sequence data.
